Wallpaper is Weary is an 18 meters long hand-drawn wallpaper. As most wallpapers it is made from an unendingly repeated pattern, but unlike others, this repetitive manufacturing process is used as a mean to transform its design through its very own production. Drawn by hand, each pattern tries to copy the pattern that came before. The second pattern is for instance a copy of the first one and the third pattern a copy of the second one and so on… Consequently, due to both the imperfection of the handwriting and the tiredness that comes from the process, patterns subtly transforms all along the roll from figuration to abstraction, and in this sense, to a form that would not have been designable without the entire process.
